  • Art Reception Opening at Hive Market & Gallery and Ladew Cat Sanctuary: Saturday 11/8 6-8 pm

Cats have forever been a part of the lives of humans. From protecting grains and keeping ships pest-free to being today's furry family companions, they've always been there with us. To honor our furry friends, the Hive Market & Gallery and the Patricia H. Ladew Foundation will host the first "Call To heART" art exhibition to celebrate this bond and we are calling on all artists to submit their cat-themed artwork.

We invite you to send in your original artwork representing how cats have influenced your life, or even life before our times, be it through watercolor, mixed media, pottery, black and white photography, abstract- whatever your medium. Here's your chance to be a part of Oyster Bay's first Cat Art Show, benefitting The Ladew Cat Sanctuary. Fun Fact: Patricia Ladew, the sanctuary's founder, was a visual artist herself, so we thought this was also a perfect tribute to celebrate the 50 years of saving cats that she started back in 1975.

    Submission details:

Theme: Cats, Cats and more Cats!

Open to all mediums (painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, photography and more) All styles from abstract to realism are welcome. All works must be original.

Email us a photo of your art at hivemarketob@gmail.com and must include  “Call To heART” in the subject line (emails that do not contain the subject line will not be considered).

Pay an entry fee of $35 for one piece of artwork per person.  A portion of all entry fees will be donated to the Ladew Cat Sanctuary. All proceeds benefit the Have-A-Heart program which covers diagnostics costs and medicine for Ladew Cats with heart conditions.

    https://www.theladewcatsanctuary.org/

You must pay your entry fee along with your email in order to be considered for the exhibit.

Entering does not guarantee admission to the exhibit. The selection committee’s decision is final.

If artwork is for sale, a commission of 40% will be deducted from the retail value of the art by the Hive Market & Gallery, Inc. and split with The Ladew Cat Sanctuary.

    Important Dates:

    Submission Deadline: Monday 10/27

If you are accepted, you will be notified with drop off instructions.
